Poem - 'Freaked In', by Deborah Joan Jones.
It's almost always simple when I start to scream and shout,

I've simply gotten overwhelmed

And so, I'm freaking out.
But there are times it's so - much - worse, from this you'll never win.

Won't say a word, can't look your way

We're done - you've freaked me in.

When Steven Tyler said, 'Hi', all I could do was stare. I looked like an imbecile and I wasted that amazing moment. He totally freaked me in :(

Dude. It's better to freak out than freak in.

Don't do that. Don't freak in. Freak out, say something, anything. Yell at me!

Man, this is no time to freak in. You've got to do something!

Mom, don't freak in, I need an answer and I can't stand when you get freaked in and all silent, and scary like this.

Noun

1. Full name Manglastra Ocanala, often shortened to Manglastra. Once human demons that crave to be human once more, who haunt the living out of jealousy, filling minds with negative thoughts about their life, goals, life choices, etc. to halt joy for living and instead elicit anxiety, depression and ultimately suicide.

2. The anxiety, melancholy, depression, etc. or any negative effects felt by a human after a visitation from a Manglastra.

3. The source of negative human thought; anxiety, depression, melancholy, etc.

Coined by writer Deborah Joan Jones as in her 2023 fantasy poem, ‘Manglastra Ocanala’.
Bob: “I feel so depressed today. My idea for that new business was stupid. Why would I think I’d be any good at that”.
Sue: “Enough with the Manglastra, Bob. That’s not you talking. It was a great idea!”

Filled with Manglastra, she berated herself and resigned herself to the fact she would never amount to anything.

His depression disappeared once he realized it was simply Manglastra.

The Manglastra Ocanala whispered to her as she slept, filling her waking thoughts with doubts about her ability and future.
