Someone who misses the obvious. Usually because they have their heads in the clouds or they arrogant.

(Three people talking)
Girl One: (looking at her left hand) "Who's the lucky man ?"
Guy: (thinking Girl One is referring to him) "What ? Am I a lucky what ?"
Girl Two: "She's engaged you pawn !". (Girl One raises her left hand to reveal her engagement ring)

scan 

1) To make sense.
2) To agree with all the available evidence.

"The dealer and the kid go to Bankcroft's place. Scare him into telling where the dope is, and then kill him. Then the dealer kill's the kid."
"That doesn't scan why kill the kid ?"

I first noticed it in the Tv show bones Episode entitled "The Man in the Mansion", first aired February 14, 2007.

blast 

Heroin. A white, crystalline, narcotic powder, C21H23NO5, derived from morphine, formerly used as an analgesic and sedative: manufacture and importation of heroin are now controlled by federal law in the U.S. because of the danger of addiction.

squint 

1) geek.
2) extremely intelligent person who lacks social skills.
3) derogatory term for such people that stereotype them as people who examine things very closely and look down on others that are not as intellectually intelligent.
4) a nickname for scientists, who "squint" a lot in their work

"The squints were assigned to examine the body very closely to find out clues about how the person was killed."

Often said in the TV Show, Bones.
