Eglarest 

Fortress in the Falas region of Beleriand, mentioned in Tolkien's book The Silmarillion. Like Vinyamar, it was ruled by Cirdan and populated by Teleri, until it became a haven for elves fleeing other parts of Beleriand as Morgoth's forces overran it after the Nirnaeth Arnoediad. It was eventually broken and sacked by Morgoth's forces, and the surviving elves fled to Balar.

It is located on the western coast.

Ossiriand

Known as the realm of the seven rivers, Ossiriand was a region of eastern Beleriand roughly equivalent to the later realm of Lindon. It was populated mainly by Laiquendi who remained elusive and invisible.

It's a place in Tolkien's Silmarillion.

Estolad 

A realm in Beleriand, inhabited by edain (humans friendly to elves), mainly as a stopping-off point before moving on to places like Nargothrond and Mithrim. It is to the north of Doriath, just outside the Girdle of Melian, and is sparsely populated.

It's a place in Tolkien's Silmarillion.

Gelmir 

Elf of Nargothrond, a minor character in Tolkien's book The Silmarillion. He rode forth against Morgoth in the Dagor Bragollach but fell and was captured. He was then paraded in front of the elves at the Nirnaeth Arnoediad by orcs, and was slain. This served the intended purpose of provoking the elves, led by his brother Gwindor, to attack prematurely, beginning the disaster which was this battle.

Morgoth often enslaved elves and apparently set them to work in Angband, although some, including Gwindor, later escaped.

Oliphaunt 

1) Westron (English) name for the Mumak, an elephant or elephant-like monster used in battle by the Haradrim in Lord of the Rings.

2) In Dungeons and Dragons, a larger and more powerful creature similar to an elephant.

The name's just a corruption of "elephant", really.

Narog

River in western Beleriand, which runs close to Nargothrond. It provided a natural defence for this city against the forces of Morgoth, which mostly fear water. That is, until Turin foolishly advised the elves to build a bridge, which provided a handy access route for Glaurung...

Huan 

1) A great wolfhound in Tolkien's book The Silmarillion. Loyal to Caranthir, he followed the elf-lord into exile and the doom of the Noldor fell upon him - although immortal, he could now be slain, and fate said he would be killed by the greatest wolf ever to live. After Caranthir's attempt to abduct Luthien, Huan joins Luthien and allows her to ride him to Tol Sirion, where he slays Draugluin and helps rescue Beren. He later aids Beren and Luthien several times, but departs before their attempt to enter Angband. When the enraged Carcharoth descends on Beleriand, Huan joins the party sent against him, and the two meet in combat and slay each other.

Another peculiar part of his curse is that he may speak, but only three times.

2) A doctor in Suikoden II, who is one of the 108 stars and who is already part of Viktor's army and does not need to be recruited.

The first is pronounced "HOO-an", the second presumably is "hwon".
