When one lifts their cup of any alcoholic beverage from the standard horizontal position, to the vertical position perpendicular to ground level increasing the flow of the alcoholic beverage which results in severe intoxication.

Gettin' Vertical

1.The sexual position when the male is on top with the females legs pinned on the bed by her head. The male then proceeds to "pound it in a vertical direction" with his feet standing on the bed, and using the mattress and/or trampoline for extra travel.
2.Also used when someone jumps very high to score a point in Basketball
