pushing up daisies

A phrase used to describe someone dead. You will be in the ground dead so therefore daisies will grow on you, and you will be "pushing up daisies"
Joe "Hey i don't like you"
Steve "You wanna fight?"
Joe "Don't fight me or you'll be pushing up daisies"

Bill "Did you hear about Steve?"
Tom "Ya i heard he got into a fight"
Bill "Ya, now he's just pushing up daisies."

pushing daisies

Dead. Your body is dead in the ground, and being used as fertilizer by plants. Hence you are "pushing" plants up from the ground.

trippin over daisies

To trip over daisies means to make a big deal over nothing. It is another way of saying that you're sweating the small stuff.
"Dude, I know she was talkin' to that guy but really, you are trippin over daisies.
"Bro, not worth it, quit trippin over daisies."

pushin' up daisies

A cool way of sayin' someone's dead. 'Cause if someone was dead, they'd be underground, and if they were underground they would be the only ones responsible to make things come out of the ground. See intertia.

That's right, dead guys make flowers. Smell them.
I shot Billy with a gun. Now he's pushin' up daisies.
