Legend has is that residents could not determine whether the towns name was pronounced (Al-vord) or (Al-void). Rock, Paper, Scissors was invented to determine which residents were right. Still to this day no one has been able to determine or agree on how to pronounce Alvord. That's why RPC is still used to this day and also used to settle other debates.
