CD rot

A condition seen in cheaply-made CDs or ones that have been exposed to water, polluted air, dust, etc. for prolonged periods of time. Usually manifests as an unusual coloration, "crud" growing, and partially or completely unplayable areas of a CD. So much for the wonders of modern technology!
I can't believe this! I just bought the new Gustav Mahler 5th Symphony recording and it already has CD rot!
