An operating system that people love to hate. Especially Linux and Mac users love to exaggerate the stability of Windows. They are of course full of bullshit. Windows is user-friendly unlike Linux, and runs most $oftware, unlike Mac OS. I just wish some one would make it open source. Hack Micro$oft!
My installation of Windows XP has functioned since 2001 even though I install programs almost daily.

Get the Windows mug.
The first virus ever to have a formal appearance and a multimillion company.
Man, who would think a shitload of programmers would need 10GB for a virus? Script kiddies are better than them!

Millions of viruses designed to work on top of the Windows virus! That's neat!

Written by programmers who use Linux, a far superior operating system.

Saying Windows is good because everyone uses it is just like saying fast food is healthy because everyone eats it.

Does things now that other operating systems could have done when they were being written (e.g. Linux).
Example: The typical Windows shell, the Blue Screen of Death

The mostly criticised operating system by Microsoft. It is known as a laughable operating system by many because of it's frequent crashes, high amount of viruses and the fact that Microsoft copies from other OSes, for example: Windows Calendar looks similar to Apple's iCal.

It started off as an executable for DOS systems, went on to be a nearly full operating system with the Windows 3.x and 9x series (c:/con/con, anyone?) and then did not require DOS.

When Ballmer decided to replace the beloved classic of Microsoft, Bill Gates, starting with Vista, Windows went downhill.
~~Before~~

Gates: We need functionality, less RAM consumption and a clean UI for Windows!

~~After~~

Ballmer: PRETTY CLOCK, PRETTY UI, WHO CARES ABOUT RAM CONSUMPTION, ADD MORE FEATURES!!!1

A functional, easy-to-use operating system that can be perfectly stable if you want it to be. The OS is only as good as its operator, guys.
I have been running Windows 2000 Professional for two-and-a-half years, and have yet to see it crash spontaneously. The only time it has ever crashed was when I caused software conflicts myself.

An extremley easy to use desktop operating system. Very optimized and compatible with a wide range of software applications and hardware devices. However, LINUX is better for servers because Windows tends to need to rebooted every few days to retain performance. After about a week of uptime, Windows becomes slow and incredibly hard to use efficiently.
Windows = ultimate workstation os
LINUX = any situation where reliability and stability are a concern (like db, web, ftp, proxy, dns, and news servers.

I actually like Windows better than Macintosh. Maybe it's because the last time I got a Mac, it sucked like a bucket of shit. Of course, it's entirely possible that that was because I was using OS 9.2.
My old Mac was bullshit. I love XP, but despise '98, '95, '89 etc.
