Get the Emomug. People who cry and cut themselves alot. Gay little boys with girl pants and tight shirts. Basically people who are extremely over-emotional and usually very immature. They listen to Hawthorne Heights and My Chemical Romance. All in all, they are stupid people.
Boy: "Like, OH MAH GOD, my mom got mad at me for not putting the laundry away! Isn't that just the worst?!"
Girl: "I can't beleive it! Let's go cry together while we have sex!"
Boy: "Oh man I wish I could but my tight girl pants gave me a man-gina!"
Girl: "I hate you now!" *cries uncontrollably*
Boy: "Aaaaaaaah, noooooo, I've ruined my life! I hate myself!!!" *Cuts himself*
Girl: "Oh no, you're bleeding!"
Boy: "I know, I got sad and cut myself."
Girl: "That's so emo! I can't beleive you! I hate emo!" *commits suicide*
Boy: "Holy shit!" *cries and writes bad poetry*
Girl: "I can't beleive it! Let's go cry together while we have sex!"

Get the EMOmug. Pretty much a watered-down version of Goth. They wallow in self-pity, and overreact over everything. They tend to wear tight-fitted pants, scarves, eyeliner(yes, even if they're guys)and they flip their hair to cover up half of they're face. The guys look like girls, and the girls look like guys.

A teenager labeled "emo" is not the same as one labeled "scene." Scene is a brightly colored- teased hair- 80's sort of style.
Cutting is a common misconception of the emo style. Cutting comes along with depression, not a style. There are those who cut for attention or think they have to in order to be emo (which is not true.) It is considered offensive to those who cut for medical reasons when it's made fun of relating to emo kids.
The music listened to by a typical emo kid is usually metal-/death-/crabcore, "screamo," post-hardcore and punk rock. It's not uncommon to find cute bands and singers like Stephen Jerzak or Owl City scattered between the metal bands on their iPods, and maybe even some Kid Cudi or Lil Wayne.

Get the Emomug. A derogatory label used to describe a population of teens that choose to explore and celebrate the dark side of life. However , after such great bands as My Chemical Romance and Escape The Fate share the same trait, the word has backfired. Lately many teens strive to act of be emo, by forcing themselves to listen to Taking Back Sunday, dressing in black, and acting depressed. Over 90% of emo teenagers are posers.
