A speech virus is an insidious word or phrase that sneaks into your speech making you sound like a dunce to other people.
There are MANY speech viruses. Here are a few examples: you know, uh, man, dude, like, and many more.

A term to relate to something that is said automatically. A learned phrase, action or behavior that when thought about might not save time and actually cost you more time than initially intended.
