Nintendon't

A phrase used as a marketing campaign by SEGA during the early 1990's to compete with Nintendo in the home-console market. In promotional material, you would often see the line "SEGA does what Nintendon't" or "Genesis does what Nintendon't" if you lived in North America.

Words you can keep

nintendon't

What you say when you see a video game company come up with a really bad idea or when someone is about to play a bad game. This phrase is used to say that someone should not go through with their shitty idea.
Bob: Did you see the trailer for Call of Duty Infinite Warfare? Joe: Yeah. They should have Nintendon't.

Carl: I'm going to play Paper Mario Color Splash. Karin: Dude, Nintnedon't.

Genesis Does What Nintendon't

An advertising campaign created by SEGA in the early 90s to promote the Genesis against the NES.
You can't do this on Nintendo! Genesis Does What Nintendon't!

Nintendo tax

Nintendo tax is when a multi-platform video game is priced abnormally high on all platforms as a result of also being released on a Nintendo platform.

Nintendo Switch game prices are notoriously high (called the switch tax) and Nintendo apparently requires some form of parity on prices as part of their contract. As a result, game prices seem to become inflated even on other platforms that are not Nintendo platforms.
Bob: "This game is a straight port of a ten year old game! why is it so expensive??? "
Joe: "look, it's also on the switch... "
Bob: "Ah, I see, it's the Nintendo tax."

Nintendo touch

The ability to make an NES game work when it will not load properly. This can be achieved to pushing it in lightly, slamming it down, or, the classic blowing into the cartridge.

This problem often occurs due to the age and condition of the cartridge.
Aaron: "Damn! Mike Tyson's Punch Out won't work! I've tried everything!"

Bill: "It's okay man, let Mark try it, he's got the Nintendo touch"

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.
