fon.tist. /fänt-təst/ Noun, can be used as a proper noun.

Not to be confused with the font designer, a fontist is the person who selects the font type in a graphic design project, such as movie credits, brand awareness, subtitles, menus in a video game, etc. A fontist can also be a font designer, but a fontist only selects the font, while the designer creates.
The fontist must ensure that these particular fonts are in line with the graphic designer’s art style of this particular project, must keep in mind that translations still must follow form, and must believe in the particular underlying emotion that this font is trying to portray.

Shadow thinks that the fontist for this movie, did not watch the movie, because it doesn’t match anything else in it.

Mazer believes that the master fontist should be called, “fontist (frenchgibberish)” and the gibberish may be interchangeable, as long as it sounds legitimate.

The fontist for this guidebook was really on point! It really invokes a feeling of nostalgia!
