The process of changing the legal status of a collection of housing units - whether a house with multiple apartments or a residential building - into condominiums.

Mike: If we evict the tenants and upgrade the kitchens and bathrooms, we could make this dump into someplace people would actually want to live. I'm sure we could get the permits to condoize the place and re-sell it.

A portmanteau of 'condo' and 'bulldoze', this term describes the demolition of an element of the built environment (building, street, park, etc.), and its subsequent replacement with a condominium building. The term is generally used to describe condominium buildings which are either out of scale, out of context, or both. This term can be attributed to the website ForgottenChicago.com.
