The action of lunging your head forward at an annoying individual, while holding your shoulders back. The neck check is meant to make the annoying individual flinch, hence showing the world that he/she is a pansy.
In many cultures, neck checking someone will lead to bloodshed.

A warning that you are acting suspiciously like a redneck, and that with a little critical self-evaluation you might save yourself some embarrassment. For instance, if you have always been an alright guy but find yourself coming down with a NASCAR-watching habit and are voting for evangelical Republicans, it's high time to "check your neck."
You: "Supper tonight is o-possum with gravy and freedom fries. Praise Jesus."
Me: "'Freedom fries?' 'o-possum?' Uh, I think you need to check your neck there Bubba!"

Using your hand to hit someone, usually a close friend, in the throat after they've thoroughly exhausted your patience. Most often used when someone won't shut up about a particular celebrity, person or event.
Friend 1 proceeds to rant about the tickets he just scored for the upcoming concert. Friend 2 karate checks him in the neck.
Friend 1: Gasping for air*
Friend 2: I'm neck checking you for your own good, bro, your own good.

A redneck who relies on welfare checks, who you can find at the beginning of each month buying out Walmarts entire supply of beer, cheeto puffs, and mountain dew.
John: "I guess we won't be buying cheeto puffs today. That woman in the motorized shopping cart bought them all!"
