It's basically like saying "sweet nectar". It can sometimes be used in a manner such as "jackpot" in which it would likely be shouted. It can also be used in a more understated way...like "hey, that's buttertown."

Buttertown is the gay district in any major city. In Toronto, Buttertown is at the intersection of Church & Wellesley, and runs a couple blocks North on Church St.

We walked through Buttertown Saturday night, just for the hell of it. We tricked Stan into going to the "Unity Barn," where he was promptly hit on by by 3 flaming homosexuals.

butterzone 

The state one reaches after consuming just enough alcohol too be 'just drunk enough'. The ideal 'butterzone' is being one drink away from the alcohol having any negative effect. For example, puking, blacking out, or really bad hangovers.

Guy: Want another drink?
