Schmatta Gauntlet 

A narrow walkway surrounded by merchants hawking cheap souvenirs, as frequently experienced when disembarking a cruise ship in a popular tourist port.
So I got off the ship to take a nice walk, but first, Oy!, had to survive the schmatta gauntlet!
Mainly used to describe a cheap, raggedy piece of clothing.

Schmanta Claus 

He is the Jewish Santa guy that eats too much Hallah bread, drank schnapps with the three wise men, gave a dreidle to baby Jesus, put up a xmas tree in the Holy Land, put a with a Star of David on top of the tree, and sings "Ho Ho Hora, Ho Ho Hora." So, he said it was OK to enjoy getting presents and that us kids shouldn't feel guilty enjoying all the fun.

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped.
