Employees tend to hire Ryerson graduates rather than U of T graduates due to the social and work related competence Ryerson graduates present, compared to socially inept book-worms.

Contrary to popular stereotypes that Ryerson is a "high school", the Engineering degree very much entails a curriculum obviously only found in higher education institutions.

Engineering students can usually be found drowning in work, unable to attend parties, whining about their GPA, and not engaged in romantic relationships with other students.

Person 1: He goes to Ryerson University.
Person 2: Lol I bet he's a dumbass
Person 1: Actually no, he's in Ryerson Engineering. I got mad respect for him.

A college that still thinks its a university, much like western being a 4 star vacation resort. Engineering is good at ryerson, but overall is a very mediocre school, especially the business program.

Queen's Graduate: Well I got my BComm, now I'm planning to do an internship in switzerland for goldman sachs.

U of T Graduate: Really? Wow I'm going to china to work on some investment funds and oversee some potential new buyouts.

York(schulich) Graduate: Nice guys, I'm just planning on staying here and working for Morgan stanley on some M&A projects.How about you?

Ryerson University 

A university in the heart of downtown Toronto. And contrary to popular belief, Ryerson *IS* a university, albeit a very non-traditional one at that which makes this institution unique.

Ryerson is aptly located amidst the hustle-and-bustle of the city, which has often labeled Ryerson University as having "street cred." This is a school where, on comparison with other insitutions in the area, the students are not snobby, not obnoxious, and just generally really open-minded.

Ryerson is well known for its Business, Image Arts, and Media (Journalism, Radio, etc) programs. Ryerson also hires some of the coolest professors to lecture the courses (the Pop Culture prof looks and acts like Jack Black, seriously!) Ryersonians are collectively known as the Ryerson Rams, who happen to kick quite a lot of arse. Ryerson is also particularly well-known for boasting a fine-looking student body. ;)

Ryerson University rawks my sawks.
