The film is related to Ridley Scott'
s "Alien" movies, and is set in the same fictional universe, however, there are many changes and differences.
The name of the film, Prometheus, is also the name of the Earthling's space-ship, sponsored by the Weyland Corporation (precursor to the Weyland-Yutani Corp of the Alien films).
"Prometheus, are you seeing this?" says Elizabeth Shaw (played by Noomi Rapace) as she radios the Prometheus spaceship to ensure they are witnessing what she is seeing through her spacesuit, which is an absolutely huge bust of a humanoid
head, which looks strangely human, and is surrounded by many containers filled with some deadly outer-space crap that the
crew should have left the hell
alone!
