The word "dog" seems too normal and the word makes my head hurt, so doggo.
"Doggo" has the same meaning as the word "dog" just a bit different.

Person 1: That doggo is drowning!!!
Person 2: Oh ok

doggo is a cuter way of saying dog

"Look at that dog!"
(already cute)

"Look at that doggo!"
(oh no even cuter)

It basically is an informal synonym of the word dog, but it's cuter and, for many people, the best way to name this kind of animal.
