A word originating from Ghana. It is commonly used to refer to friends and strangers whose name you do not know.

To friend: "Challey, where is the party happening?"
To stranger: Challey, please which way leads to Kumasi?"

You can use this Ghanaian word to call any male figure informally and it can be spoken repeatedly as many times as possible. "Chaa" is a short form of it.

Him: I didn't know you'd be offended.

Me: challey challey challey, you no force.(what you did wasn't right)
