humped the shark 

A reverse reversal of fortune.

When a company or, oh, say a TV sitcom (aka Happy Days), begins a downward spiral, the moment that the spiral began they are said to have "jumped the shark". However, if by intelligence or more likely pure chance, said company or sitcom turns the downward spiral around and all of a sudden they are in the black or renewed for another season, they have "humped the shark". Okay, what it means is Fonzie jumped the shark and then turned around and humped the powerful beast and who wouldn't renew a show that had the cojones to do that in the '70s?

Man, Apple really jumped the shark with Newton back 1993.

Yeah, but they humped the shark when they came up with the iPod. I sure hope they don't jump it again with the iPad.

the shark game 

A game where one person is the shark, and the rest are swimmers. The shark's task is to tag as many swimmers as they can. The swimmers try to escape the shark, to do this they need to stay on furniture. They must go on the sea (floor) at one point. The shark can only tag the player when they are in contact with the floor, in the air, the swimmer decides to touch the shark. You can't use something to serve as a raft or boat.

Surf the Shark

When one unintentionally does something very impressive.

In reference to Doug Niblack. He was surfing off the coast of Oregon when his surfboard hit a great white shark, he landed on the shark and "surfed the shark" for a few seconds before falling off.

"That was awesome! Did you mean to do that or did you just Surf the Shark?"
