one album wonder

Common in the '90s, a one album wonder is an artist who puts out one successful album and several singles, and then quickly fades into obscurity. This is different from one-hit wonders from the 80's, who only had one hit single.

The Cranberries, Garbage, and Alanis Morissette are all exampls of a one album wonder in varying degrees.
