A battlefield syndrome in which a soldier may become lost in thought due to stress from the fight. The 1000 Yard Stare is named such because the soldier may seem to be focusing on an object very far away, and may even become unresponsive to external stimuli. The phrase was coined during the Vietnam war.

Get the 996 + 4 = 1000mug. The 1000 Yard Stare, or the 2000 Yard Stare, was a symptom of battlefield stress and exhaustion. It became named so during World War II, because the victim would become unresponsive and stare "a thousand yards off".
After the invasion of Peleiu, many Marines would fall victim to the 1000 Yard Stare after numerous days of endless combat.

There are two different stories as to how this side-project came about... one is said that it was created through Al's distate of a poor mix of a Revolting Cocks song. Another was through his worry that the final mixes from THE LAND OF RAPE & HONEY would never see the light of day.

Get the 1000 degree knifemug. Roblox derivative of the 1000-yard stare. Term is often used when something traumatizing comes to pass in an online game, leading to a shell-shock like effect on the player.
Can occur after situations when people you connect with, or have been talking to suddenly rage-quit or disconnect that aren't added to your friends list, (Mostly after death in-game) making it seem as though that player has 'died' in a sense.
The unit of measurement is interchangeable from game to game, such as chunks and/or blocks in Minecraft, Hammer Units, (HU) in source engine games, and the list goes on.
