Spray paint wasn’t locked up in cages back in the day it just sat on the merchandise rack … graffiti artist would go and steal the spray paint off the rack usually by swiping it into a large bag

Tap, Rack, Bang

A common practice to clear a malfunction during shooting. Consists of Tapping the magazine to make sure it's properly seated, Racking the slide or bolt to eject the malfunctioned round and chamber a new one, and Bang signifies that you've cleared your malfunction.

My pistol keeps failing to extract during drills, so I use the Tap, Rack, Bang method to get it working again

Rack

A graffiti slang term for stealing, similar to the street term boost. In the formative years of hip-hop graffiti, racking was an essential skill needed for empoverished youth to get their hands on their art supplies, and you were considered a dumbass if you actually paid for your paint. Today, the situation is slightly different as most inner-city spots keep paint in cages, and generally, anti-theft technology / security is tougher to get around. Regardless, with the right knowledge, writers will continue "rack" just about anything from booze to full ladders still in the box.
