NOAA Weather Radio broadcasts the weather and weather alerts issued by your regional National Weather Service Office (NWS) almost everywhere in the United States on 7 different frequencies. Very useful if you live in the South or Midwest.

My noaa weather radio just went off for a Severe Thunderstorm Watch at 3:30am!!!!

no soap...radio

A joke played on an innocent victim, where several people agree beforehand to laugh at a completely pointless joke involving elephants, polar bears, etc. in a bathtub with the punch line "no soap ... radio". The objective is to see if they can get the victim to laugh along so he won't look like he was too dumb to get it. If he does, then everyone stops laughing and asks the victim what's so funny, and gets a good laugh at his embarassment.

We used to do the old "no soap...radio" joke when we were 10.

Radio Apathy

The point at which you accept total defeat in the quest to find a decent radio station. You started on some overplayed pop track, then skipped opera, classical, country, some fake thug tripping over his beats now you’re back to that shitty pop channel. You settle on some sub par 90's song. You don’t even turn the radio off; just sit there in utter indifference.

You: I was real worried when you rolled in here bumpin the Macarena.
Your Friend: I was trying to find something good for so long, but then I gave in to radio apathy.
