Hyena Crips
Local street gangs based in Brooklyn, NY, and Detroit, MI, involved in violent crime, including murder, robbery, and fraud. Members call themselves “Hyenas” or “Heenz”.

Brooklyn: Founded in the early 2010s, members in East Flatbush faced federal charges for racketeering and multiple murders. Around 2015, some Brooklyn members placed affiliates in Detroit.

Detroit: Known as “83GC” (Hyena Crips Got Control), a localized Crip set active in Five Points (ZIP 48219). Operates in a Gangster Crips/3X-Movin Gang and Gangster Disciples area, adopting the “Treys” identity. Famous for tag wars and disputes with rivals like Black P. Stones and Rollin’ 60s Crips.

Media & Recognition: Outsiders often confuse them with L.A.’s 83 Gangster Crips due to graffiti. Featured in YouTube videos, news coverage, and an August 2025 Detroit News interview decoding their internal cipher.

A defunct Compton-linked Piru set that operated on Detroit’s Westside, mainly around W. Seven Mile & Fenton and the Beyond the Gates Apartments. Once allied with BPSN and rivals of Brightmoor GDs, their territory was taken over by 5Point Nation Crips (SCRG/BJSG) between 2022–2024.

A Crip-affiliated Eastside Detroit street crew around East 6 Mile & Gunston. Part of the 4s alliance, linked to Green Guyz and 42HB, often clashing with Bloods and 5s/5x crews. Known locally for turf conflicts and block-level influence.

Detroit Eastside neighborhood (Nolan) known for its longstanding Blood presence. Core turf around E. Seven Mile & Dequindre / John R. Home to HSB, SOK, YRS, and CTMOE; newer sets include HeadBanger Bloods and TAG. Affiliated with Beirut Bloods, RedZone Bloods, 82 HeadBanger Bloods, and The 5s.

Detroit Westside clique rooted in Black P. Stone Nation (Chicago) with LA Jungle Stone Bloods ties. Turf along West 7 Mile & Telegraph (“7TEL/7ELE/07B”) and Seven Mile–Rouge corridor. Historically strong, now largely symbolic; Hyena Crips (83GC) & ScoreGang (SCRG) dominates former tags.
