go marconi

A phrase decribing the change in senior employee behaviour.
When older/senior employees, who have worked in one company/location for most of their working lives, adopt shakespeare's second childishness in the truest sense, and reduce to toddlers in the playground. It normally is characterised when they are merged, or taken over.

Cause: Employees who have been in one comapny too long, way too long, and do not have a clue of the working world outside of their office cubicle of 15+ years.

Symptoms: General rebellion with no apprant reason. Broken urinals, cisterns, degrading scribbling/graffiti on company pemises/walls sometimes seen.

Cure: Fire them/spank them.

First seen in Marconi in Beeston in 2006, when they were taken over by Ericsson.
Well the company wants to introduce a more efficient way of doing things. It's much better than the old way of doing things.
I hope the employees don't go Marconi on us.

( even more offensive than button the lip) : what you say to someone who is very politically opinionated, not afraid to speak their mind when it comes to politics, as well as arrogantly proud of being politically incorrect as well (all 3 at the same time, in the same person).
son: (starts waving US Confederate flag around the room): I think we should impeach President Barak Obama; he is not doing anything meaningful concerning illegal immigration. I think we should elect either John McCain or Joe Arpaio.

father: are you nuts? since when re you so politically opinionated? I think it's your mother's upbringing. she's the one whose supposed to be politically opinionated, not you. Now, as your father, i am ordering you to either kiss the Don's ring or die. I am ordering you to stop waving that US Confederate flag, to go eat rocks, and then off to your room to do your homework Got that?

son: yes, dad. but i am entitled to my political opinion, even if I am politically incorrect

Synonymous with Yarmouth yet more appropriately and onimously named, The Land Where People Go To Die is much like The Land That Time Forgot -- meaning of course that you won't be coming back because the headhunters and savages will tear you apart limb by limb, and speak in quasi-native languages that are incomprehensible (see Franglais or Acadien).
Steve : I was visiting Maine to meet Stephen King, and he told me to visit The Land Where People Go To Die. I didn't understand what he meant, maybe he was just trying to freak me out.

Tyler : Dude, don't go there! Where do you think he got most of his ideas from? He's referring to Yarmouth! It's right across the water! I've never heard of anyone ever coming back.
