A backronym for “tip” or gratuity. Tipping can be seen as a way of thanking a person for good services, so “thanks in pay” works pretty well.
The waiter was friendly and attentive, so I thanked him with a good tip.
Ah, so a tip is a thanks in pay!

A Catholic-Irish tradition where a bride and groom are given a down payment for a house on their 5th wedding anniversary by the brides mother and step-father.
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for the anniversa-pay gift, mom and Dave! So excited for the house downpayment!

A person whose existence is for the purpose of paying for other people. Typically refers to a woman and/or the head of a large household, but this applies to anyone who gets suckered into paying for others.
My girlfriend makes more money than me so I always dupe her into paying for everything. She is my pay bitch.

The $45 ATM fee you have to pay when you end up drunk in Vegas and take a free limo to a strip club and realize you need to withdraw money from the ATM there.
Rob: "Hey, Peter, this stripper loves me, can I borrow $40 for a lap dance?"
Peter: "Dude, no. They charge a $45 ATM fee here."
Rob: "Come on, please! Peter Pay!"
