Steve Urkel nerd, but someone who has ghetto characteristics, lives in the ghetto and participates in ghetto activities (probably because they don't come from money either), but at the same time is a nerd, not popular in the hood, tries to keep his or her head in the books, and aspires to get out of the hood through education and legal jobs.

Nerd assault occurs when an average or mediocre student outperforms a nerd on a particular assignment or exam, and subsequently informs the nerd that he/she was beat with minimal or no effort.
Dick - "Hey Nerd, what you get on that exam?"
Nerd - "91 percent."
Dick - "Wow. Good job. How long you study?"
Nerd - "About 14 hours."
Dick - "Cool. I only studied an hour before the exam and got a 94 percent."
