The name for the phenomenon in which if you were to bring a particular item with you somewhere, you won't end up needing it, but should you not bring it, you will need it.

"If I bring my umbrella, it probably won't rain. If I don't, it most certainly will. I guess its just the Talisman Effect at work."

The Gunio effect

This term origins from when mr. gunio once made an entire class driven to suicide. It is when an even takes place and repeats itself many times over and over, and you slowly become even more miserable, depressed and lose the tiny bit of happiness you ever had. you will even forget your best friend. for example, you study multiple hours for a week to prepare for a math test, and then he gives you a test on a completely different subject. or one person cheats on a test, and everybody gets an F because of that. Or, your math teacher tells your parrents you are misbehaving, when in reality, you only asked soemebody for a pencil one time.

me: my teacher told my parents i was bullying a kid for a pencil, but i was only asking him kindly to borrow his pencil.

friend: the gunio effect kicks in once again

The Morgan Freeman Effect

When you see a phrase related to a movie or TV show in text and you immediately hear the actors voice in your head as you read it.

Examples: "Hasta la Vista baby." "Say hello to my little friend." "Here's Johnny!" "Sickness must be purged."
The reason this is referred to as "The Morgan Freeman effect" is because Morgans voice is so distinct and ingrained in peoples memories that it is notoriously and extremely easy to recall when seeing his picture or reading a quote by him.

That phrase has The Morgan Freeman Effect.

Little Jimmy Effect

The effect which states that the younger a person is, the harder it is to criticize them because others expect them to be ignorant of what they did wrong. Either this or the young person knows about this concept and are just pretending to seem ignorant. This effect lessens the older a person becomes. This was first coined by the Youtuber Racoon Eggs.

My cousin broke my fucking laptop cause he wanted to see me get mad. He's not getting in trouble because of the damn little jimmy effect

The Playground Effect

When you were a little kid and you wanted to play on one of the elements of a public playground however some other kid was already using it. Therefore in order to drive the other child off of that component of the playground without outwardly saying something, you would stand there next to them and wait until they felt awkward enough to leave. After they left you could enjoy that slide or swing until someone else came along and decided to playground effect you!

We noticed that both volleyball courts were occupied, so we decided to use the playground effect so that the occupants would eventually stray away.

The Glover Effect

When a black man (or woman. It happens with both.) uses negative experiences with their race to justify attraction to non-blacks and/or exclusion of their own. Stereotypes are also be used for this.

"One black girl called me an oreo in high school so I now I only date Latinas"

"I don't date black guys because I'm not interested in baby mama drama"

Black Scientists: "These poor people are suffering the (ughhh ughhh) phenomena of The Glover Effect! Only extensive therapy can save them now."
