Kenning

a seventeenth-century term meaning "Pretending to work when you're not actually doing anything useful at all, often using the self proclaimed importance (moylesturbating) of the pretend work to hold power over co-workers in a vain attempt to gain favour of upper management."
"He said he has got lots of really important reports to work on today, so I've had to get out and work on my own this morning."
"It would seem so, but he's just kenning as usual. When I came back into the office, he was just on the phone waffling to Linda."
