turkey joke

The act of staging a fake joke within a large group of people immediately followed by loud rambunctious laughter intended to make others around them think that the laughing party is having the most fun in the room when in reality it's the other way around.

During our celebratory reunion dinner with old friends and colleagues, someone from the adjacent table made a turkey joke in order to combat the genuine fun and laughter our table was producing.

Chris: "Why did the chicken cross the road"
Manraj: "Why"
Chris: "To get to the other side"
Andrew: "Hahahahahaha"
Manrah: "Wow, we weren't even talking ot you, what a secondhand joke"

Dad joke

Jokes told by a lot of dads that may may been funny years or decades ago but have grown "tired" over time. Examples include "Caddy Shack" or "Borat" bits. Dads typically have a static repertoire of these jokes they have been perfecting for years.

Any time someone mentions New York Italians the Dad Joke in response may be "fuhgeddaboudit."
