Being able to pick and choose what you want; to substitute one thing for another of your preference.

In the movie Bad Santa, Marcus (Tony Cox) is trying to negotiate with Gin ( Mac) who has the upper hand in the deal. Marcus tells Gin he can have half the money they get, but no merchandise. Gin yells at him and tells him that it's no chinese menu.

Dropping The Menu

Realizing, after the fact, that your trip to the bathroom resulted in many different forms of feces (floater, sinker, sandy ship wreck, anaconda, fro-yo, play-doh, oil spill,etc.)

I should have known that eating that entire bag of cheeseburgers would result in me dropping the menu the next day.

Menu Eyes

A state of mindlessness. When you are physically reading but none of the information is processing.
Derives from (but not limited to) the moment when you are reading a menu for 10 minutes and yet you are incognisant of a single word you read.

I had to reread that whole chapter because I had menu eyes.
