A 13+ male who has an obsessive interest in the show "my little Pony: friendship is magic" which is a show made for little girls. These people are the worst kind of people, and will push their subculture onto other people for no reason, often derailing a conversation or forum that has nothing to do with the dumb show.
These people often have nothing to do with their lives but obsess over their foolish hobby and post about it all over the Internet.
These are the worst type of people and should be avoided at all costs.

Person 1: I'm thinking of buying a new tv, the one I've got now is getting kind of old.
Person 2: Oh yeah cool you should get one of those plasma-screen ones.
Brony: I could help but overhear you were talking about TV. Did you catch the latest episode of "My Little Pony"? Omg it was just the best, Rainbow Dash was just the best, I just spent all my savings buying MLP merchandise.
Person 1: Jesus fucking Christ...

Group of males who think because they watch a TV series intended for teenage girls, that it somehow makes them rebellious and going against the norm. MY little pony fan base are a bunch of failed creations, craving for some kind of attention since they have no kind of social life or motivation to be something. Most will try to put up an argument, but you can't defend being a fan of a TV show about ponies when your an overweight slob with a neckbeard.

Word/Phrase given to males who watch My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It is the combination of the words: "Bro" and "Pony," hence Brony.
The term is generally used for the older male fanbase.
It originated from 4chan's /b/, and was said to be the source of the "b" in "Brony." However, many sources (including Hasbro) have repeatedly confirmed that the prefix of "Brony" is "Bro."
Recently, there has been many disputes regarding the true definition of Brony. Some may claim that the definition can also be used for females, but this then deems the whole point of the definition invalid. A Brony is a male.
To view the direct counterpart of Brony, see Pegasister.

Bronies: Teenage to young-adult, mostly male, fans of the animated cartoon "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic." The term is often accepted as gender-neutral, and many female fans prefer "brony" over the not-so-popular "pegasister."
We have an awful lot of negative stereotypes that mostly aren't true. Not all of us are into R34. Not all of us are homosexual. And not all of us are furries; our fandom is, in my opinion, completely separate from furries.
We have a ton of talented artists, musicians, and authors that make our fandom so special. The fanbase is constantly growing and spreading it's hard to avoid if you're an avid Internet user. Will everyone appreciate this? Hell, no. Is it necessary to bash the fandom because it? Absolutely not.
Before you bash and call us "faggots," check out the show for yourself.
(By the way, Fluttershy is best pony. Your argument is invalid.)

Brony: Hey guys, have you seen the show "My Little Pony?"
Friend 1: No, but it sounds so gay.
Friend 2: It's all over the internet! And it's so stupid! I haven't even watched it, but I know bronies are all faggots.
Brony: Here, let me pull up one of the episodes on my iPhone.
20 Minutes Later
Friend 1: Hey, this isn't so bad!
Brony: I know, right?
Friend 2: Wow, this is really, really gay. (walks away)
Friend 1: DON'T HATE, LOVE AND TOLERATE!
Brony: Welcome to the herd, buddy.
