"Tino ataahua" is Maori for "very pretty" (it turns out that "tino" translates to "very" and not "pretty" so that's my bad lol. I'm still going to pretend that it means pretty though. Ataahua would be a horrible nickname). However, in the sense that I use it, "tino" refers to someone very special. It is a nickname given to the sweetest and most beautiful person on the planet. Not a single person comes close to equalling the beauty that tino possesses. They have wonderful hair that looks great in any hairstyle/colour; pretty eyes; a cute, contagious smile that can light up a room; an incredible body; and immaculate fashion sense that is proven again and again through every outfit that they wear. Furthermore, tino is naturally gorgeous. They look stunning with and without makeup... it's all so effortless. Calling tino the most beautiful person in the world is no exaggeration. It's not an opinion. It's a well-known fact.

Lie-tino / Lietino
Definition:
A coined neologistic adjective, blending the words "lie" and "Latino", used to characterize the behavior of a small subset of individuals of Latino descent—particularly those of Puerto Rican heritage —who became widely known in FBA grassroots circles for exaggerating or distorting historical facts regarding the origins and history of Hip Hop culture during online debates. Though sometimes provocative, the term is intended as a satirical descriptor, not a pejorative noun or ethnic slur.
Background:
Coined in the early 2020s during online debates about Hip Hop’s 50th anniversary, the term arose as some Nuyoricans (Puerto Ricans from the Bronx) argued their cultural centrality to Hip Hop. These debates, occurring during the COVID-19 lockdowns and beyond, prompted backlash from grassroots Foundational Black Americans (FBA), who emphasized that Hip Hop’s core elements were created nationwide and exclusively by FBA artists, particularly drawing from Southern Black musical traditions. As claims from the Nuyorican side grew more combative and exaggerated, FBA commentators coined “Lietino/Lie-tino” as a satirical nickname. YouTube content creator Great Black Shark is credited with originating the term.

That’s classic Lie-tino behavior—turning a minor Latin percussion presence into a whole cultural takeover.

A great guy! Very handsome, good-looking, and talented.
Unforgettable as well.
He’d have you looking back at him & thinking, “Damn, should’ve told him how much I loved him.”
