Greenwashing

Taking superficial, PR actions to make your company or organization appealing to people concerned about the environment.
BP's greenwashing campaign to appeal to the climate change crowd has caught up with them.

greenwashing

The act of corporations using public relations propaganda to distract from corporate malfeasance in their environmental policy, in order to give the impression that the degraders are benign, beneficial, or caring about the environment.
Instead of addressing environmental concerns, all Exxon Incorporated did after their last oiltanker spill was a greenwashing of the issue by printing up lots of glossy advertising posters with happy children playing in the ocean, talking about the 100 birds they scrapped oil off of out of the kindness of their hearts--while completely ignoring they destroyed hundreds of square miles of oceanfront.

Greenville Bubble

The pseudo-world in which Greenville College (students and residents), and no other aspects of the real world, exist. The location where no events outside of the 8 mile radius are known.
When I visited Greenville College, I found myself in the Greenville Bubble, and didn't know that the royal wedding even happened until I got home.

Greenville Wisconsin

An awesome place that people live in right outside of Appleton, Wisconsin. Unfortunately, all of them are basically forced to be in the Hortonville School District, so tat means that they have to go to Hortonville Highschool. That place is filled with abnoxious rednecks and hicks with bigs trucks and are overly obsessed with TRUCKS AND MUD. All of their trucks in the parking lot have huge tires and smoke stacks. They even have a designated snowmobile parking area. More on Greenville Wisconsin, they have the Catfish races and do fun stuff all year round... while Hortonville sits in the hunting spots they have and such... all year.
I love Greenville Wisconsin, but I hate the fact that I have to go to Hortonville Highschool.

Soylent Greenville

A small town in Missouri made up of canibalistic hilbillies who live in isolation from normal society.
Person 1: I'm going to Arkansas next week.
Person 2: Cool, just make sure you don't take 67. That runs through Soylent Greenville.
Person 1: Oh God! Maybe I should go by plane.
Person 2: That would probably be best. You don't wanna take your chances on these kind of things.

Greenwald Projection Principle

Corollary of Godwin's Law; applies when, during the course of a disagreement, an individual or group is wrongfully accused of homophobia, toxic behavior, and/or anti-semitism by "journalist" Glenn Greenwald*; usually employed as an attempt to distract from any unpleasant but completely factual statements made by the accused referencing Greenwald. In all cases, Glenn's exercise of the principle means he has conceded the argument to the accused, since he is simply projecting his own flaws on to his interlocutor.

*While the GPP is primarily a personal tool of Greenwald's, it may be used by his supporters and/or sock puppet social media accounts. Women, especially BIPOC women, are the most frequent target.

Does not apply if the accusation is accurate. The GPP does not provide cover for bigots.
I simply pointed out how often he appears on Tucker Carlson's show, and Glenn immediately hit me with the Greenwald Projection Principle; I won the argument two sentences into it!
