A term you use when a joke you use doesn't get any laughs or reaction. usually because there was too much thought into it went over your audiences heads. It is used as a reversal to save face and insult those around you because you made a crappy joke.
"....well thats just because she's really a man." (silence)... "oh sorry, smart joke."

This is a major insult only used when one has run out of the normal insults and needs something that will incompass all of the other insults into one big one. One can spice things up by substituting other words at the end such as, joke in a hobo's sock, joke in a rabbits ear, joke in a paper bag or even joke in a goats butt crack..ext.
