In MMO games tanks are the characters that are supposed to take most of the damage, unless... they are french. In that case the word has two definitions either:
A tanking character that is acting like, a little sissy and entering combat last.
OR
A caster or other low-hp character that is acting like a tank for no good reason and overall fucking up everybody's game.

French tanks can be seen mostly in MMOs like: WoW, LoL, HoN,DotA and the such.
Example:
"Why is Rammus backing out?!?!"
"F*ck.... we got a french tank"

"Ok, once they are in range Alistar is gonna stun'em and then... Wait, wait Ryze wtf u doing man?!?!"
"He frenched tanked them...."

Get the Potato Tank mug.The Holding Tank (aka Fish Bowl, if the Tank is made up of mostly see through material). is quite different that from The (Drunk Tank). The Holding Tank is where every single "new" inmate waits while getting processed in to whatever jail or prison they will be living at.
The Holding Tank is a staging area for all inmates waiting for their Court hearing, (usually in big cells with one or more toilets).
A holding tank is a common euphemism that is used ambiguously throughout the jail/prison community. There are many times and many reasons that an inmate might be placed in a Holding Tank. i.e. in process, waiting for court, waiting to bail out, out process, and so on.
