On a smart phone, the act of pulling the Home screen downward (aka swiping downward on Home Screen) and hearing a “ping” once the data refreshes, indicating a new notification. The phone cannot have push notifications on, otherwise it’s called a “no pull ping”

1. (Mostly Reflexive) The act of violently defenestrating oneself through a window, esp. a window that is closed, usually to escape an unpleasant situation or circumstances.

Origin: Derived from the iconic Undertale scene wherein Papyrus defenestrates himself through a closed window to escape Undyne’s house, humorously shattering the window pane in the process of his escape.

“Once I nearly got caught in my girl’s house, but I managed to escape just in time by pulling a papyrus out of her window and landing onto the shed.”

Verb: To block all of your friends on every platform, and yes, every platform, while at the same time blocking all of their numbers and ghosting them. All for an unknown reason.

Origin: Derived from a friend named Jordan L. who blocked and ghosted us all after a trip to an escape room. Dude also ghosted all of his friends that didn't even attend, including some who have known him for years.

Synonyms: Ghost, disappear.
Antonyms: To be active, present.

Common term used in universities in Cape Town (especially UCT law faculty) To skip, bail on, or show up late to something, especially when it’s expected that you should be there. Often used when someone is known for consistently not pitching up.

“I might pull an Alex tomorrow and not go to class.”
