Common term used in universities in Cape Town (especially UCT law faculty) To skip, bail on, or show up late to something, especially when it’s expected that you should be there. Often used when someone is known for consistently not pitching up.
“I might pull an Alex tomorrow and not go to class.”
“Don’t wait for him, he’s probably pulling an Alex.”
