This term consists of the English "gulp" and the Japanese words similar in spelling and sound ソーダ "sōda" (soda) and ソード "sōdo" (sword). In my understanding, it sounds like when you read a book, watch a movie, and, in principle, do something new, at first it was as if you drank soda, enjoying the taste.
But then everything goes almost the worst way, it hurts like you swallowed a sword. But you keep going anyway, because you like it, and you can't give up the story of these characters and themselves.
I think it could be synonymous with obsession.
(this is my project work, which I have to hand over in two weeks.
I would be very glad if you could help to promote this slang expression a little bit, awesome users:)).

For example №1:
- My favorite character was killed a few episodes ago!
- What, your love! I'm sobbing.. Stop, why would you keep watching this show?
- it's like a gulp of soda.. I just cannot leave them behind! I'm curious what's going to happen next.
For example №2:
- Oh my God, look at you! You don't look any better than a living corpse.
- That's why I avoid mirrors.
- A.. anyway, what happened to you?
- I worked myself to death. I was so glad that my business at work went up the hill and I began to receive more and more new orders. I was overcome with inspiration. But it was an obsession! A gulp of soda!
- Oh, darling, you need to think more about yourself.

"Kyle! wait we still have beers to finish." "Bring them on the rode." "Wait should we call these rode sodas!"

A American citizen typically massively obese with a lack of common sense and independent thought that drinks large quantities of soda and or caffeinated beverages while also making the beverage of choice their personality. The visual of a average Soda American is that of the Michelin man with sunken eyes a pale face and a dead fluoride stare with fat rolls tucked into their pants/leggings.
“I got a Diet Coke with my three Big Macs and large fry”
“Did you see the new marvel movie”
“Dr pepper is the best drink”
”I hate the taste of water it’s so bland”
“Joel has drank 4 mountain dews in the last hour” “ikr no wonder he weighs 600 pounds” “typical soda American”
