Terrorism Tourism

A person who when terrorism or a natural disaster strikes does not see pain and suffering caused to a city or nation but rather an opportunity, an opportunity for cheap flights and hotel whilst a country mourns the death toll and destruction.

Sarah: “Hi James, heard you’re off on holiday next week, anywhere nice?”

James: “Hell yeah Sarah, there was a crazy bad earthquake that hit Croatia last week, you want to see the bargain I got! A little bit of terrorism tourism never hurt anyone.”

Rear View Tourism

The act of deliberately using your rear view mirror to look into the car behind to check out what the driver/occupants are doing.

"Hey man, on the way in this morning, there's this woman punching out her husband in the car behind me. I even started yelling her on."

"You've got to give up this rear view tourism, pal."

Pessimistic Tourism

A type of tourism in which people will visit somewhere specifically because they believe that it is endangered in some way or another. For example, people visit Antarctica or rainforests and other untouched natural wildernesses as they believe that it will be destroyed due to climate change and direct human action in the near future and want to visit it whilst they still can. People might also do the same for man-made areas before they are supposedly torn down or otherwise closed or repurposed.

Those who visit Antarctica or glaciers solely because they know it is melting and will soon disappear are engaging in pessimistic tourism.
