A band or group that appears on MTV, VH1..etc Also, on Major radio stations that get played constantly. Their music sold at Target, Walmart, etc..Merchandise galore at Hot Topic, Walmart..etc

Good Charlotte is a great example...also, Yellowcard and Blink 182. Most sellout bands and groups have obsessive posuers.

Some people will claim that using the term 'sellout' for a band they used to like is not being a 'true fan' as you're not listening to the band for the music. This is not true at all because if a band sells out they will change their music (for the worse).

One who sings about being unique, and "not putting on makeup" because "that's not who they want to be" ... and yet while they sing this, they are wearing lipstick, have about 30 bracelets, a necklace, and highlighted hair.

Don't give me wrong... I'm all for this "inner beauty" crap, or decorating your person with makeup and the like... but making it seem like appearance means nothing while you've modified your appearance? C'mon.

1 A rock band or any genrue that signs in a major label and plays music for more fans

2 An Asian guy, especially Filipinos, who lives like a caucasian and listens to rock music.

Chad, the Filipino-American who is a sellout, listens to Blink-182, a sellout pop-punk band.
