Euphemism for engaging in intimacy, esp. with a hater and a gatekeeper, who is also God's favourite princess, and the most interesting girl in the world (see Shadowheart). Originated in Baldur's Gate 3, an RPG released in 2023 by Larian Studios.

Shadowheart: "Though I'm still finding sand in my hair - I wonder what the others will think of that..."
Tav: "They will naturally assume we snuck away to make sand castles in the middle of the night."
Shadowheart: "But of course they will. I hope we'll have more opportunities to slip away... and make sand castles."

Aliona Baranova: "Sometimes you can just tell when someone's good at making sandcastles, right? I haven't tested my theory, but I feel like I know... I feel like you can tell, by someone's personality, if they're good at making sandcastles or not. What do you think?"
Jennifer English: "I'm bad at making sandcastles."
