Meaning: shocked and disappointed, but not surprised. A feeling of shattered optimism mixed with fulfilled nihilism.(similar to, but distinct from: dismayed, defeated, gobsmacked, shook, struck, justified)

As in, "the latest illegal actions of the government officials left me feeling trumped." Or, "This week's shooting by a mentally unwell extremist touting right-wing fascist propaganda left me trumped." Or, "I'm trumped to hear your alcoholic ex crashed their car while driving drunk."
