(1) Where you use yer legs to wrap around someone's waist in an affectionate cuddle; this is often done from behind, where you both are sitting on the floor. Extra points if you're barefoot at the time, since this not only eliminates the danger of your accidentally bruising your friend with hard shoe-soles, but it also allows him to tenderly fondle your toes in response to your loving gesture.
(2) Where you drape someone's legs over your shoulders and then wrap yer raised arms savoringly around his calves/thighs. This mutually-pleasurable action is often administered as a thank-you gesture to the person for his cuddling with you, letting you massage his feet/legs, etc.

I love how Tiffany allows me total access to her juicy real estate, and so I always give her a nice snuggly leg-hug afterwards.

butterfly hug

A typical greeting gesture employed by a homosexual man or soyboy upon encountering a man. The greeting itself is comprised of a loose hug with gregarious hand flapping, or patting, upon embrace. The hands are not required to make actual contact with the back or shoulders of the recipient, with protocol usually dictated by the masculinity of the receiving person. The recipient may or may not reciprocate, and it is hard to make a determination of his homosexuality or soyboy characteristics absent other indicators. Note that a butterfly hug is not exclusive to homosexuals or soyboys, but it is a strong indication that, at a minimum, the initiator of this form of greeting is within one or both of those categories. All heterosexual men with at least marginal testosterone levels agree that a butterfly hug is an extremely poor substitute for a proper firm handshake with physical contact lasting less that 5 seconds.

That guy is queer, you can tell because he gives a butterfly hug when he meets people.

gateway hugs

A gateway hug is similar to a gateway drug in the sense that it leads to something more. A gateway hug leads to excessive making out, blowjobs, or consequently sex.
