To make thinking go wrong in a snowball/ thermal runaway effect, to exponentially get worse.

An example of Betsy’d is To burn the food in the oven and then to burn your hand picking up the burnt food ,throwing it across the room because you burnt your hands. Then slipping over the burnt food you are trying to clean up off the floor.
