This is the same as "Hello". It's used the same as well. This is a French word, but you can use it as if it's an English greeting! The direct English translation is "good day".
You pronounce it like: bone-joo-h

Bonjour is "hello" in french, and dont be confused with bonsoir, bonsoir is French for "Good Evening."

French Guy: "Bonjour, How much French do you know, Evan"
Evan: "It's not the evening."
French Guy: "Bonjour mean Hello in French, Bonsoir is Good Evening in French."
