Located 15 minutes outside of NYC. Thats about where it ends. People in Rockland brag that they are "part" of the city, but in reality they are a bunch of townies. They all live in little towns with no sidewalks. Most of the people there are inbred, or just plain ol' retarded. They try comparing themselves to westchester and L.I. but dont understand that nobody cares what they say, and that at heart they are upstate townies.

Get the Rockland rickshawmug. Blue collar town just south of Boston. Working class with big emphasis on high school sports. Mostly Brazilians, Irish, Cape Verdeans etc. and lots of transplants from Dorchester. If you grew up sheltered you might think it’s not the hood, but if you grew up around Spring Gates, Copley Gardens, or Church St/Park St area etc you know what’s really going on out here. It’s a great place to live if you’re used to urban environments. The other definition writers clearly never left their mommy’s porch in Milbrook.
Rockland, MA is an old blue collar abandoned industrial town with triple decker apartment buildings and all the problems of the city, but the sheltered uppity kids want it to be Hingham. It will never be Hingham...Which is a good thing, because the people who build your Milbrook house and make your stupid fancy coffee need affordable places to live. Don’t sugar coat it.
