A customary toast of friendship in which two comrades will clink glasses. Firstly, using the tip of the glass - for friends that are here -, then, the bottom - for friends friends that aren't here - and finally, tapping the bottom on the nearest flat surface (i.e. table, ground, bar etc.) - for the friends still to come. It is an act of companionship in many drinking communities.

"There's no way we can all sit together, Michael doesn't even have his 7th Jab", Mark whinges to Mary, his mother. Mary is visibly annoyed as she replies, "FFS Mark, stop being a McGowan".
